Terms of Service

Last updated: October 20, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Root My Android ("the Service", "we", "us"), including the rootmyandroid.com website, the Root My Android API, and the Rooted and Guardian Angel Android applications. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. What the Service is

The Service provides software tools, device analysis, and educational information for Android devices: scanning a device you connect, assessing its backup coverage, bootloader and root status, producing rooting / upgrade plans, encrypted backup storage, and related device-management features. Certain features are provided free of charge; advanced ("PRO") features are paid for with prepaid credits called Nitro.

2. Accounts

Accounts are identified by a randomly generated 16-digit account number. We do not require or store an email address, password, name, or any other personal identifier. You are solely responsible for saving your account number. Because we hold no recovery information, a lost account number cannot be recovered and any Nitro balance or synced data attached to it becomes permanently inaccessible. Do not share your account number; anyone holding it can use the account.

3. Nitro credits

Nitro is a prepaid credit that can be exchanged inside the Service for PRO features at the prices published at the time of use. Nitro:

4. Payments

Payments are accepted in cryptocurrency. Card / Apple Pay purchases, when offered, are processed by a third-party on-ramp that converts your payment to cryptocurrency on our behalf; that provider's own terms and identity checks apply to those transactions. We never see or store your card number. Cryptocurrency payments are irreversible by design; see ourRefund Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only on devices that:

You may not use the Service to access, modify, or extract data from devices without the owner's authorization, to violate any law, or to interfere with the Service's operation.

6. Rooting, unlocking, and modification risk

Rooting, unlocking a bootloader, or installing aftermarket firmware on a devicemay void the manufacturer's warranty, erase the device, trigger security protections (e.g. SafetyNet / Play Integrity), or render the device unusable ("bricked"). Any plan, guide, or tool the Service provides is offered as information and tooling only; the decision and the act of modifying a device — and all consequences of that act — are entirely yours.

7. Backups and encryption

Backup features encrypt data on your device before upload; the encryption key is held by you and never by us. We cannot decrypt your backups and cannot recover a lost key. Losing your key means losing your backups.

8. No warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY ROOT METHOD, ROM, OR GUIDE WILL WORK ON ANY PARTICULAR DEVICE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, DEVICE FUNCTIONALITY, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 30 DAYS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

We may suspend or refuse service to any account used in violation of these Terms, including payment abuse. Because accounts are anonymous, enforcement is by account number.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published atrootmyandroid.com/terms with its revision date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
