Device Audit

One audit system, many audit classes. Run a live scan of the device you're on right now, or see a sample backup audit from a real Android device below. More audit classes are on the way.

Live scan — this device

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to save the result to your account number at the end.

More classes (storage, root integrity, ROM & OTA posture) land as the Rooted app's scanners ship — same page, same account.

What this device is actually uploading — and what it isn't. Most people assume "backup is on" means everything is safe. It doesn't.Sample data captured Oct 19 from a Pixel 5 running Android 14.

Proof it works: on Oct 19 this device's entire home-screen layout was wiped — and fully restored from the Oct 17, 9:09 PM snapshot in the backup set below.

Not covered — at all

These installed apps are not registered for backup in any way. This phone is the only place their data exists — if it's lost or wiped, only your own in-app backups (seed phrases, export files) can recover them.

Electron Cash isn't backed up yet either, but it is queued for its first backup. Most wallets exclude themselves from cloud backup by design — whether that trade-off is right for you is a decision we surface, not one we make for you.

What this means

Apps choose whether to participate. Android lets any app opt out of backup entirely — every wallet in the red list above has done exactly that.

Coverage ≠ contents. Apps that do participate decide what their backup includes. An app being "backed up" does not guarantee its most sensitive data (like keys) is part of the upload.

App data only. This audit reflects Android's app-data backup. Your photo/video library is handled by a separate sync system (Google Photos) that this page doesn't inspect.

How Rooted delivers this (preview)

The Rooted app reads every installed app's backup participation straight from the OS — no root required for the coverage map. With elevated access (root or our ADB tooling) it also reads last-backup timestamps and schedule: the full picture you see here.

Synced to your account number, this page becomes a live, per-device backup audit — re-checked on every scan, with alerts when an important app drops out of coverage.

Sample data captured Oct 19 from a Pixel 5 running Android 14. Live per-device data arrives with the Rooted app's device sync.
